About the Speaker

With over a decade of experience in sustainable building design, Sandeep Ahuja is the co-founder and CEO of cove.tool, an AI-driven consulting platform enhancing the design and construction cycle. A recognized leader in the AEC industry, Sandeep has won the Inc Top 100 Women CEO title, Forbes 30 Under 30 award, and has presented at the UN environment assembly, TEDx Atlanta, and SXSW. She is passionate about transforming the AEC industry with innovative solutions to reduce risk, boost transparency, and maximize productivity. In his dual role as President and Chief Design Officer (CDO), Keith Hempel, FAIA, LEED AP BD+C, guides the firm’s integrated, design process, which connects building performance and design excellence on every project, regardless of scale or budget. A passionate advocate for the benefits of a research-based, multi-discipline approach, he is helping to lead the national industry’s effort to develop best practices for developing higher performing buildings that better serve people.

About the Speaker

Jesse Walton, AIA, LEED AP, a Senior Project Architect and Sustainable Design Leader at Mahlum Architects, brings 20 years of experience focused on sustainable educational spaces. Known for his expertise in Building Information Modeling (BIM), envelope design, energy efficiency, embodied carbon modeling, and energy code compliance, Jesse leads Mahlum’s Project Sustainability Leads (PSL) meetings, addressing sustainability challenges on current projects. He has overseen the firm’s AIA 2030 Commitment data collection and visualization efforts for over a decade.

Jesse now co-chairs the National AIA 2030 Working Group (2024-2026), coordinating updates to operational and embodied carbon programs with the Design Data Exchange (DDx) subcommittee, which analyzes data from over 24,000 projects annually. He contributed to the Washington Sustainable School Protocol (WSSP) 2023 update, serves on the University of Washington Integrated Design Lab Advisory Board, and was recently invited to participate in the EPA Lower Embodied Carbon Labeling Program focus group.
