About the Speaker

With over a decade of experience in sustainable building design, Sandeep Ahuja is the co-founder and CEO of cove.tool, an AI-driven consulting platform enhancing the design and construction cycle. A recognized leader in the AEC industry, Sandeep has won the Inc Top 100 Women CEO title, Forbes 30 Under 30 award, and has presented at the UN environment assembly, TEDx Atlanta, and SXSW. She is passionate about transforming the AEC industry with innovative solutions to reduce risk, boost transparency, and maximize productivity. In Spring 2024, she will co-author Build Like It’s the End of the World: A Practical Guide to Decarbonize Architecture, Engineering, and Construction.

About the Speaker

Alexander Briseno is a Design Leader for HKS with nearly 30 years of experience in diverse global projects. Educated at the University of Michigan, Lawrence Technological University, and SCI-Arc, he honed his skills in mixed-use, hospitality, retail, health, and education at Arquitectonica and Perkins Eastman in New York.

He has taught at NYC and Detroit universities, co-founded 306090: Architecture Journal, and held advisory roles in AIA, ULI, and economic development programs. Alex promotes collaboration and transparency, leading to high-profile project awards and strong client relationships. He is involved in multifamily design and health research and is developing a design studio at Georgia Tech with Julie Kim, integrating industry, research, and community design.

Pierluca (Luca) Maffey recently joined Carrier Johnson + Culture as the new Firm-wide Head of Design and Design Principal. Luca brings a portfolio of high-profile architectural projects in the U.S. and abroad, spanning hospitality, residential, workplace, mixed-use, master planning, and office sectors. His role includes overseeing firm-wide design leadership, driving business development, and fostering a culture of design excellence across our offices. With a 25-year career in the industry, Luca has held various roles, from Design Principal to Business and Marketing Director at several top-ranked international firms.

About the Speaker

Ami Shah, AIA, LEED AP, is the Principal and Firmwide Health Education Practice Leader at HOK's Atlanta studio. With over 16 years at HOK, she specializes in designing cutting-edge educational spaces for universities, including the University at Buffalo Jacobs School of Medicine and the USF Morsani College of Medicine.

Ami leads teams to develop innovative, flexible, and inclusive health education environments. She actively writes and presents on future-proofing medical schools. A strong advocate for diversity, Ami serves on HOK’s Diversity Advisory Council and supports initiatives like HOK’s Diversity x Design scholarships for BIPOC and minority design students.
